Akzo Nobel meets needs of flexographic applications.

Akzo Nobel Inks has developed an ink system to complement its existing water-based range for the flexographic printing ink market.

`Hydrofilm 4000' is a flexo ink for printing filmic substrates on narrow web, label presses for a range of materials, including PE, PP, BOPP, PVC, PET and

polyester. The ink is also formulated for use on metallic films and foils as well as coated and uncoated paper.

The product is available in a full range of `Pantone' colours and in four-colour process sets. Special `Ultra' fade-resistant formulations are also available. The product is compatible with both hot foil and thermal transfer overprinting.

Akzo Nobel Inks has also introduced the UV-curable offset ink `Lithocure 200', which has improved lithographic properties and higher colour strength, suitable for printing on various pressure sensitive papers and synthetic substrates.

The UV screen ink `Uvoscreen II' and the water-based flexo ink `Hydrokett 3000' and `Thermokett HR' have also been added to Akzo Nobel's printing ink portfolio.
