Lockheed Martin puts CAPP on JSF

Lockheed Martin says it has seen "measurable increases in productivity and quality" from Visiprise CAPP (computer aided process planning) and a shop floor software in its huge EWI (electronic work instructions) project.

The firm developed EWI to update production operations for the F-35 joint

strike fighter.

It says quality has improved on annotated digital photo graphics of build steps, cutting hours per unit, scrap and rework since changes are now immediately propagated.

When fully deployed later this year, the Visiprise system will provide access across the US to more than 6,000 users.
