Southwest Airlines Marks 25 Years Serving Amarillo, Texas.

Dec. 16--Fasten your seat belts. Put your seats and trays in an upright position. Prepare for a 25th anniversary celebration.

This December marks the 25th year Amarillo passengers have boarded the brown and orange Southwest Airlines planes staffed by a casual and light-hearted crew.

Angela Vargo, a Southwest spokeswoman, said Amarillo was underserved and overpriced in 1978.

"Amarillo, obviously, is a gateway to the Panhandle part of Texas," she said. "W
