Rick Davidson likes consistency. In fact, he tries to practice what he preaches as senior vice president of property management for Griffis/Blessing, Inc. If you are consistent, then "people know expectations. They know the direction you are going," he said.
The direction Davidson's career has
In 1979, Davidson joined the team of Office America in Colorado Springs, working on third-party fee management and commercial leasing.
"We chose to move to Colorado Springs due to job opportunities. Having the opportunity to live across the United States, we looked hard and fast at a community that we felt could ... support us as we worked through life," said Davidson. "Colorado Springs has treated us very fairly."
After Offices America closed in 1987, he headed up the Southern Colorado area for Frederick Ross, then made the transition to Griffis/Blessing five years ago. As a property manager and business development leader, he now manages about 3,500 multi-family rental units with about 7,000 tenants. He also manages about three million square feet of commercial property with about 500 tenants.
"The number of people our company comes into contact with ... it's constant," said Davidson. "Those people we touch all have needs. We're constantly touching people in our community."
Davidson is an avid hockey fan with three sons who play the game. One if his sons plays for a junior hockey league in Arizona. He has coached youth hockey for 17 years and participates in the Air Force Academy's sponsorship program. He also is involved in the Business Improvement District as well as chairs the Nuisance Abatement Advisory Committee.
