Sony Music Entertainment adds to its Flatiron space.

The Lansco Corporation announced today that Sony Music Entertainment has signed a lease for 37,000 square feet at 79 Fifth Avenue for Red Distribution. Red Distribution, which currently occupies the 15th floor at the Flatiron building, will double its presence in the building with an additional 18,500 square feet on the 16th floor. The asking price for the space was $53.00 per square foot.

Sylvia Haddad, executive managing director at The Lansco Corporation, handled the negotiations on behalf of the property's owner. Scott Gottlieb of Insignia/ESG represented the tenant.

This transaction brings the office portion of 79 Fifth Avenue to full occupancy. Other tenants in the building include Structure, a division of The Limited, The Foundation Center, iXL and PR 21.

Currently, Lansco is marketing 15,000 square feet of retail space at the building located on the southeast corner of 16th Street. The retail opportunity consists of 5,500 square feet of space on the ground floor, 3,500 square feet on the mezzanine level and 6,000 square feet of selling space on the lower level.
