New alliance for tenant reps.

A new group of independent real estate service practitioners had been formed to respond to the profound changes underway in the corporate real estate world. The International Tenant Representative Alliance is believed to be the only commercial real estate organization whose members provide user-oriented

services exclusively.

Founding members of ITRA had first come together at a planning/discussion meeting in the fall 1992, organized by "The Tenant Representative" newsletter, a Piermont, New York-based national monthly publication for real estate professionals serving office, industrial and retail spac users.

Members of the alliance come from a diversity of backgrounds -- seasoned by prior experience in development, traditional brokerage and financial analysis, for example -- and from around the United States, with affiliations overseas.

And in keeping with those in the forefront of the business of tenant representation, ITRA members' focus is not simply transaction-oriented. Facility management, lease adminstration and auditing, site consulting and strategic planning aree some of the user-oriented services they provide in addition to representing businesses in lease and purchase transactions.

The founding members of ITRA are: Richard Allen, chairman, Allen Tenant Services, Inc., Phoenix; Robert Borris, president, Corporate Real Estate Advisors, Inc., Vienna, Va; Christopher Desloge, president, LeaseMaster, Inc., St. Louis; Howard Ecker, president, and Jane Mather, vice president, LRS Associates, Inc., Chicago; Lawrence Glaze, president, Glaze Real Estate Services, Inc., Kansas City, Mo.; Brian Gleason, principal, Gleason Pancoast, San Francisco; Alan M. Piker, president, A.M. Piker, Inc., Cincinnati; Chris Schupp, president, Corporat Realty Partners, Dallas; A. Richard Thomas, president, A. Richard Thomas & Co., Columbus; and Victor Voinovich, president, The Victor S. Voinovich Co., Cleveland. In a recent survey of nearly 500 commercial real estate companies. "The Tenant Representative" found that approximately 15 percent provide tenant representation and related services (i.e., lease and financial analyses, asset strategy) exclusively.
