Teaching Entrepreneurship in Educational Institutions.

Entrepreneurship as a discipline is relatively new. According to Business Week, more than one-third of the top business schools have created entrepreneurship programs since 1973. The purpose of this paper is to report the status of entrepreneurship educational programs in colleges and universities.

The present study explores the nature and content of existing entrepreneurial programs. Preliminary results of the study show that there is no model for entrepreneurship curricula. Programs differ dramatically among institutions. A common factor, however, is the increase in the number of courses offered. Many of these courses are offered under traditional departments such as management, while others are offered under units called centers.
