Cost of corrosion revisited.

Date: Tuesday, June 1 1999

The Paint Research Association (PRA) has been awarded a project to look at corrosion losses m a changing industrial landscape. This will update the original research carried out by the Hoar Report almost 30 years ago.

The UK Department of Trade and Industry has issued the project,

entitled Investigation of the Cost of Corrosion, Risk Assessment Methodologies and Procedures for Minimising Corrosion Costs, because the cost of corrosion to the national economy is still a significant concern to industry.

PRA is collaborating with the Institute of Materials (IoM) and the project is due to be completed by the end of September 2000.
