Magazine Advertising Bureau (MAB)

nonprofit organization of magazine publishers that was merged into the Magazine Publishers of America (MPA) in 1974. The purpose of the MAB, which was organized in 1943, was to sell the concept of magazines as a vehicle for advertisers. Its sales efforts, which included industry and agency presentations, research projects concerning audiences and media, and promotional consumer and trade advertising, are now handled by the marketing department of the MPA.
