Cashman puts Victorian civil litigation in the dock.

Byline: Matthew Drummond

Oct 12, 2006 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- A review of civil litigation in Victoria will result in a code of conduct. The review is being conducted by former plaintiff lawyer, Peter Cashman. He will consult the heads of the Magistrates, County and Supreme courts. At least two law firms will provide information on the costs of suing in Victoria. The review will consider proposals such as the establishment of a self-sufficient government litigation funder and pre-procedure protocols leading to different court avenues.
