A verdict last month in Summit County should be an $8.6 million wake-up call for Ohio employees and companies that don't take noncompete agreements seriously.

So say the attorneys from Roetzel & Andress Co. of Akron who represented Patio Enclosures Inc., the Macedonia sunroom maker and installer, in a suit against Four Seasons Solar Products of Holbrook, N.Y., an arch-rival in the sunroom business that hired an ex-Patio Enclosures employee for a key management post. Noncompete agreements usually bar an employee from setting up a nearby ri
