Judge Halts Logging in Oregon National Forest Pending Hearing.

Aug. 4--A federal judge Thursday suspended logging on three Willamette National Forest timber sales after environmentalists objected to the cutting of old-growth timber.

U.S. District Judge Garr King halted cutting at the Pryor, Straw Devil and East Devil sales in the Middle Fork Ranger District east of Oakridge.
