In a ruling that is likely to have repercussions for municipalities throughout Washington, the Court of Appeals in Tacoma overturned a lower court ruling, and found Jefferson County liable for flood damage to the property of an Olympic Peninsula family.

The family's damages could potentially reach $1.5 million, lawyers for the family claim.
