The Arkansas Alcohol Beverage Control Board recently awarded a private club permit to Julio's Mexican Restaurant in Jonesboro to serve alcohol.

Julio's needed the private club permit in order to serve alcohol in a dry county. Earlier this year the ABC board awarded a private club permit to Hero's Main Street Bistro, a downtown Jonesboro restaurant.

Julio Diaz Jr., Julio's owner, could not be reached for comment.

ABC Director Robert Moore Jr. said no other new applications for permits in Jonesboro are pending.
