Sep. 19--Having owned a Volkswagen New Beetle for a while, my test drive last week in the 2003 VW Golf GTI 20th anniversary edition made me feel right at home.

Driving the Golf is just like driving the New Beetle but without that familiar arched shape enclosing the passenger compartment. In other words, it's a New Beetle without the cool styling.

So, as I've noted before about the Golf, perhaps it's the New Beetle for people who just don't like the spotl
