News: Committee launches enquiry into the future of UK pensions.(Work and Pensions select...

July 23 saw the launch of the cross party Work and Pensions select committee which is charged with examining the future of UK pensions.

Issues to be examined include whether there is a crisis in UK pensions compared with other European countries and the role of the Department for Work and Pensions in encouraging individual saving for retirement.

The committee will consider the role of the private sector in facilitating pension saving and the role of tax incentives in achieving this.
