Roanoke, Texas, Business Incentives Boost Commercial Development.

Jun. 29--ROANOKE, Texas--E...uipped with economic incentives and low tax rates, Roanoke has been able to increase its tax base nearly six times within the past five years.

Roanoke has used incentives such as grants paid from a sales tax set aside for economic development to target companies with high-end inventories that generate more tax revenue, City Manager Jimmy Stathatos said.

"Roanoke has done a ton of stuff to make Roanoke an easy sell," he said.
