The Sacramento Regional Transit District has purchased a strip of right-of-way from Union Pacific for $8.4 million. The land will be used for RTD's 6.3-mile, seven-station, $222 million light rail extension project. The agreement boils down to RTD receiving a 6.3-mile strip of land adjacent to UP's track along with structures already present at the site
