HMO Suit Against Dubek Could Bankrupt The Company.

Local Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) are suing Dubek and foreign cigarette companies in Israel for NIS 7.5 billion. The HMOs are seeking reimbursement and compensation for treatment of HMO members who due to smoking, contracted diseases which caused HMOs to spend billions treating members. This suit is the largest damage suit ever pursued in Israel, and the first time that a suit against foreign tobacco companies has been filed by an Israeli organization.
