Under new ethics rules for attorneys that take effect in February, lawyers will be able to reveal some information they previously were required to keep confidential.
The change in client confidentiality standards is just one modification in the code of conduct update, which will bring Ohio more in line with attorney standards in other states. It is the first large-scale rules change for attorney behavior since the Ohio Supreme Court adopted its Code of Responsibility in 1970.
