In his newly created position, Lovgren is chartered with the overall strategic management of Lam's legal matters. Specifically, Lovgren will supervise the activities of Lam's in-house law team, and oversee a wide variety of corporate legal issues including patents, technology licensing, sales, marketing, and purchasing activities, as well as regulatory and government compliance areas.
Lovgren brings over 16 years of experience in the semiconductor industry's legal arena to his new position at Lam. Prior to joining the company, Lovgren managed the legal affairs of Advanced Micro Devices, Inc., most recently serving as AMD's director and deputy general counsel. A three-time graduate of Santa Clara University (Santa Clara, Calif.), Lovgren holds a bachelor's degree in economics, a master's degree in business administration, and a juris doctorate.
