Here's a new twist to hiring an attorney to help you - http://www.lawbidding.com. The recently launched website aims to help small business owners and entrepreneurs secure legal counsel on their terms. Here's how it works.

You confidentially post your legal issue for free and then attorneys search through the cases and place bids on that work, also for free. You would then select your attorney based on the bids. So far, the website has attracted users (attorneys and clients) from all over the U.S.

I've said plenty of times before that two key players you need by your side in your small business are an accountant and an attorney. This may be the option that breaks down the cost barrier for some.

According to the information I received, LawBidding.com aims to make it more efficient and more affordable to find the right attorney. They have already posted many cases with attorneys bidding on different start-up and small business legal issues from all over. According to the site founder, Nick Cronin, he has received very positive feedback about the attorneys entrepreneurs are finding.

I have not used this service. As with anything in business, please perform proper due diligence.
