Laurie Bloom joined Long Island's largest law firm, Rivkin Radler LLP, in 1999, and in that short time she has firmly established herself as one of the leading marketing, communication and public relations specialists on Long Island. She is director of marketing and communications for the 140-attorney firm, which has offices on Long Island, New York City, Summit, N.J. and Santa Rosa, Calif.

Highlights of Bloom's career at Rivkin Radler include orchestrating events and promotional materials for the firm's 50th anniversary. This involved organizing a large and elaborate reception, writing and designing the firm's anniversary journal, creating a luncheon for the launch of a book written by Leonard Rivkin and conducting oncamera interviews with the firm's partners for historical archives.

Bloom redesigned Equal Access and Management and Economics, two American Bar Association newsletters and designed several law firm publications, mailings and bulletins. She redesigned the firm's logo and created numerous advertisements and promotional materials. She was profiled in Newsday as being one of the most active law firm marketers on Long Island.

Prior to joining Rivkin Radler, Bloom was marketing and communications manager for the Long Island Board of Realtors and Multiple Listing Service of Long Island Inc. She served on the State and National Association of Realtors' Committees for Communications and Technology, and she wrote and designed How to Sell It Fast and for the Right Price; and The MLS Homebuyers' Guide.

Bloom is involved in community and trade organizations. Affiliations include the Public Relations Professionals of Long Island; the International Association of Business Comm unicators/LI Chapter; the Legal Marketing Association; the Press Club of LI/Society of Professional Journalists; Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind; the Hofstra University School of Communication Alumni Association; LISTnet; the Long Island Coalition for Fair Broadcasting; and many others. She also gives her time to Long Island's United Way, the Alzheimer's Association, the League of Women Voters, Long Island Works Coalition and Big Brothers-Big Sisters.
