Commerce Department Official Touts Bush Trade Policies at Wisconsin Conference.

Apr. 6--APPLETON, Wis. -- Critics who charge President Bush has been too lenient with trade violators need to hear the facts, a Department of Commerce official told an Appleton audience Monday.

James J. Jochum, assistant secretary for import administration, was appointed by Bush last August.

"America is by far the most open major economy in the world. And you have the right to expect more from our trading partners," Jochum told an audience of about 330 busines
