Western pharmaceutical companies face loss of more drug patents.

Aug. 29--The multi-national pharmaceutical companies GlaxoSmithKline and Pfizer have recently paid the price for taking a casual approach to drug patents in China in the early 1990s. Their nonchalance has allowed Chinese drug makers to manufacture cheap generic copies of best-selling drugs out to launch patent challenges.
