BARRIER FABRICS: Breathable nonwoven composite barrier fabric

A barrier fabric designed to meet the emergency standard ES22-92 of the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) is disclosed in the US Patent 5 560 974.

The nonwoven composite fabric serves as a barrier to blood-borne pathogens while having a sufficient degree of robustness to offer physical protection and is breathable so as to be reasonably comfortable to wear, according to the patent applicant, Kappler Safety Group Inc of Guntersville, Alabama.
