Nonwoven mattress cover to meet Californian standards.(Safety and protection)

A fireproof nonwoven cover for spring mattresses is the subject of European Patent EP 1 780 322.

Applicant Soltex Inc of Greenville, South Carolina, USA, says the cover is intended to comply with the TB 603 regulations, issued by the State of California, USA, with the aim of quantifying and regulating the flammability resistance of mattresses in an attempt to reduce the number of deaths due to fires in private homes.
