CONTINUING legislative pressures on emissions from vehicle fuel tanks have led Krupp Kautex to develop an emission catchment concept for which it is seeking development partners.
Draft legislation in the USA is likely to reduce to a quarter the permitted emissions from a vehicle. Current US regulations maximise hydrocarbon emissions of 2 g/test, guaranteed for 10 years or 120,000 miles. The draft regulation from the US Air Resources Board which is likely to become effective in 2004 calls for a maximum emission of 0.5 g/test, guaranteed for 15 years or 150,000 miles.
