Longtime Metals Plant Exits Portland, Ore., to Make Way for Aerial Tramway.

Oct. 23--A planned aerial tramway connecting Oregon Health & Science University with the South Waterfront development is forcing a longtime steel and aluminum processor to move from Portland to Tualatin.

Pacific Metal, which began operations in Portland in 1883, planned to announce today that it will move from its 100,000-square-foot plant on Southwest Bond Avenue to a new 111,450-square-foot building in industrial west Tualatin in May.
