MINNEAPOLIS -- Results from a recent study provide hope for educators struggling to keep pace with increasing standardized test requirements. No Child Left Behind mandates schools to meet test requirements or lose some of their federal funding. The Visual Learning Study showed a 12.3% increase
The Visual Learning Study compared all standardized test math sections taken at year-end for the 2003 school year to tests taken at the end of the 2004 school year for each participating 3rd Grade or Special Education instructor. The Study included 17 educators from 8 states and over 560 students taking 40 different math sections on various state and national standardized tests. Students in the group with the improved scores used Times Tables the Fun Way, which is a picture and story based method of learning the multiplication facts.
Co-author of Times Tables the Fun Way and owner of City Creek Press, Inc., Judy Liautaud, says, "Teachers have always had success using our program but these results illustrate the exciting improvement students can achieve when math basics are thoroughly learned."
In business since 1992, City Creek Press, Inc. continues to publish and develop Times Tables and Addition the Fun Way as textbooks and software educational products. These products can be seen at www.citycreek.com.
