Comtech Telecommunications Corp. said Thursday it received a total of $17.7 million in orders under a contract with the U.S. Army Communications Electronics Command, known as CECOM.
The Melville-based company will provide CECOM with satellite bandwidth and software licenses, along with support services, with all work to be completed by June 30.
Under the terms of its contract, Comtech provides mobile satellite transceivers, satellite bandwidth and network operations, engineering services and program management to the Force XXI Battle Command Brigade and Below - Blue Force Tracking program, which is a battle command real-time situational awareness and control system.
The orders were received through Comtech's Maryland-based subsidiary, Comtech Mobile Datacom Corp., which provides satellite-based communications systems and location and messaging services.
Comtech last saw a 36 percent jump in its profit for the first quarter.
Comtech (Nasdaq: CMTL) shares increased 4 cents in morning trading to trade at $51.83.
