AMSTERDAM, NL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 3, 1999--
GammaGraphX, Inc. (GGX) announced today that it has added support for two popular bar codes symbologies as options to its AutoPilot(tm) toolkit. The AutoPilot toolkit provides a flexible, robust application programming interface (API) for
Previously, GGX(R) had bundled recognition and reading of Airline 25 with hardware controllers developed by its Seaport Imaging Group and provided to airlines worldwide. These controllers have supported business-critical applications with a combined daily ticket-processing rate in excess of 100,000 images. With this new, software-only version, AutoPilot maintains its traditional high reliability and accuracy, while actually improving performance/speed - "Raising the Bar Code(c)" standard.
With this upgrade, AutoPilot also recognizes and reads BARCODE 32, a commonly used bar code format modified for compression and security, which is used in the pharmaceutical industry.
GGX's software for finding and reading bar codes is based on patented technology developed by Seaport Imaging - a recognized leader in the field. Through its AutoPilot toolkits, SeaBars(tm) applications, and OEM licensing arrangements, GGX provides accurate, fast, and reliable bar code processing for millions of bar codes every day - more than 2,000,000 bar codes a day in the transportation industry alone.
AutoPilot processes 16 different bar code types including, high density PDF 417 two-dimensional (2D) bar codes. Software for evaluation, as well as a comprehensive white paper on "Bar Codes in Document Imaging", is available, free of charge, at www.ggx.com.
Airline 25 and BARCODE 32 are available as a single, "special codes" option to AutoPilot, at a list price of $1,480. Interested parties should contact European sales at (011) 44-1895-465-655 or North American sales at 781/372-1240.
