PrintLandlords who rent office space often have separate rules and regulations that are applicable to the building. These rules may contain a number of restrictions and limitations as to what a tenant can do in the building or on the premises.
Make sure to review these rules and regulations before you sign the lease, and try to get your lease to include the following:
- The terms of the lease will govern if any inconsistencies arise between your lease and the landlord's rules and regulations.
- The rules must be reasonable, and no new rules may be adopted that are not reasonable.
- These rules will be enforced by the landlord against all of the building's tenants.
And of course, if some of the rules and regulations are problematic for your business, make sure that your lease gives you the needed waiver or flexibility.
