British Regulators to Investigate New Telecom Pricing by BT.

Apr. 1--Telecoms regulator Ofcom launched a probe into BT's new prices for possible abuse of its dominant market position.

This follows complaints from 13 telecom companies, which say BT is making it harder for them to compete for home telephone business. BT (177 pence, down 1 1/2 pence) has 72 percent of that market.

BT said last week that it would raise line rentals by UKpound 1 a month, but cut call charges. Customers using rivals such as One.Tel must pay the extra rent, but save nothin
