Physicians lead revolt against managed care companies.

Managed care organizations remain under siege in what appears to be an ongoing war with doctors, though just how the most recent turmoil will affect plan sponsors remains to be seen.

Some analysts believe that, entrenched as employer-based plans are, the shots might fly over head. But others fear it will drive medical inflation even higher, while possibly reducing patient access and/or lowering the quality of care.
