Workplace substance policies increase safety, survey finds.

A survey of Pennsylvania workers has found that one in five workers claim to know someone who uses illegal drugs or alcohol on the job.

"This survey shows that drug and alcohol abuse remain a major problem for Pennsylvania companies, jeopardizing the health and safety of workers and their colleagues while also having a steep negative economic impact on Pennsylvania businesses," said Health Secretary Calvin B. Johnson.

The survey polled 502 adult Pennsylvanians who work full or part time. The survey also polled 430 Pennsylvania employers that have a work forc
