WASHINGTON -- An agreement reached between the Occupation Safety and Health Administration and the Associated Builders and Contractors is allowing safe ABC member firms to become exempt from OSHA inspections.

The goals are to build trust and to reward proven safety-conscious contractors while at the same time allowing OSHA more time to address jobsites that need serious attention.

The "platinum" agreement is based on ABC's Safety Training and Evaluating Process, which requires contractors to document their safety records and submit them to ABC for review. ABC
