Just days after 13 workers injured in a 1995 factory fire settled their suit with companies supplying materials believed to have caused the fire, the workers filed a separate negligence suit against their employer, Malden Mills.

"I was just shocked out of my wits," said Aaron Feuerstein, owner of the Methuen, Mass.-based mill. "I feel dreadful. Our hearts have gone out to these victims. How could they do this? They're like members of my own family."
