Department of Labor official clarifies overtime rules: a look at how new overtime rules affect...

ORLANDO -- Businesses already should be implementing the government's new FairPay overtime law that went into effect Aug. 23, a Department of Labor official told hoteliers at the Florida Hotel & Motel Assn. Annual Conference & Trade Show, which took place Aug. 24-26.

"Right now, you all are governed by the new rule," said Corrie Fischel, a senior policy advisor at the DOL. "There is not a grace period. There were four months you could come into compliance."
