May 1--How does a company land on a "best places to work" list? Who puts an "employer of choice" label on an organization?

It's their employees. Workers vote with check marks on employee surveys and with their feet.

Some employers are overwhelmed with applicants, partly because existing employees are advocates. Other employers struggle with high turnover and lousy morale and complain "we can't find good workers."
