SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 30, 1995--Fritzi California, a $130 million San Francisco-based women's clothing manufacturer, was just named Apparel Industry Magazine's (A.I.M.) "All-Star" award winner.
This follows on the heels of Fritzi's recent selection as J.C. Penney's national supplier of the year for women's dresses.
For over a decade, the A.I.M. All-Star program has recognized top industry companies that have exhibited innovative use of technology and excellence in management. Now in it's twelfth year, the All-Star awards have become benchmarks for manufacturing excellence and leadership.
The J.C. Penney "Supplier Entity" Award recognizes one company each year for outstanding service to J.C. Penney. Determining criteria include: merchandising leadership, product development, quick response, quality standards and marketing competitiveness. Recently, J.C. Penney named Fritzi the winner, based on their 1994 performance.
"It's an honor to be recognized for excellence by our peers and clients," said Bob Tandler, President of Fritzi California. "We've worked hard to become a leader in fashion, and now we are being recognized not only for achieving that goal, but also for becoming leaders in the business of fashion."
Tandler attributes Fritzi's success to a cutting-edge philosophy. "We've learned the importance of innovation. Our client's needs are constantly changing. We must be able not only to adapt to those changes, but to anticipate them."
Fritzi has most recently been recognized for its efforts to protect garment workers. In October, the company held the first-ever labor regulation and worker-safety workshop for all Fritzi sewing contractors. The hands-on, classroom-style instruction represented the first time a clothing manufacturer has taken responsibility for teaching its contractors proper compliance with Department of Labor and Cal/OSHA regulations.
Fritzi was founded in 1947, and manufacturers clothing under the Fritzi, My Michelle, You Babes, Jaclyn T and Jaclyn Bene labels. Gross sales in 1994 exceeded $130 million. The company is headquartered in San Francisco and has offices in New York and Los Angeles.
