ADS Expands with First New Jersey Plant

Advanced Drainage Systems, Inc., a leading manufacturer of smooth interior corrugated high-density polyethylene pipe, will break ground for its newest multimillion-dollar manufacturing plant and its first in New Jersey. ADS already has 35 facilities and 3,800 employees nationwide.

Located on

32 acres at the intersection of Center Square and Pedricktown Roads in Logan Township, Gloucester County, the new 68,000-square-foot, $12-million plant will expand the services of this Ohio-based company to the Eastern United States storm water drainage market.

"Gloucester County is pleased to welcome ADS and proud that they have selected our community as home to their new plant. Our skilled workforce, excellent location and our wonderful quality of life are just some of the benefits that ADS and their employees will enjoy when they open the doors on their new facility," says Gloucester County Freeholder Joseph Brigandi.

Says Joseph A. Chlapaty, president and chief executive officer of ADS: "This plant is part of our national expansion program to better service the drainage needs of the New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and Washington, D.C., infrastructure markets. By manufacturing pipe as close to our customers as possible, it significantly reduces the time and cost of delivery," he explains.

After evaluating sites in urban Delaware and Pennsylvania, ADS chose the rural/suburban Logan Township area. According to Chlapaty, finding the ideal location to better service ADS customers in the eastern region was the most important aspect of the company's site search. "We selected this site because of its strategic geographic location and excellent skilled labor market," said Chlapaty, who estimates the new facility will create about 100 new jobs.

ADS's creation of new manufacturing jobs in New Jersey is in contrast with the state's loss of more than 100,000 such jobs over the last five years.
