MAYNARD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 12, 2001

Monster(R).com, the leading global online careers site and flagship brand of TMP Worldwide (NASDAQ: TMPW), today announced the creation of the Team 2002(TM) Online Community (www.saltlake2002.com), the

first ever Web site designed to retain and administer the training program for Olympic volunteer staff. Created for the Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the Olympic Winter Games (SLOC), the Team 2002 Online Community will streamline communication efforts between the organizing committee and the 26,000 Olympic volunteers needed to staff the Olympic Games. This effort reflects one of the important legacy projects of the Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games.

As the official online career management sponsor of the 2002 and 2004 U.S. Olympic Teams and the 2002 Olympic Winter Games, Monster.com has created an online volunteer community allowing SLOC to dramatically improve its efficiency in managing a very large pool of Olympic Games volunteers. The site includes content such as newsletters, polls, chats, volunteer profiles and training administration features. By accessing the Team 2002 Web site, volunteers can maintain close communications with the organizing committee, interact with other volunteers, receive Olympic updates and information regarding Games preparation, and learn from the experience of previous Games volunteers. After the Olympics, all SLOC volunteers will receive a "Team Member Skill Portfolio" symbol on their Monster resume designating their successful completion of their Olympic duties and their role in staging a successful Olympic Games.

"Olympic volunteers embody Monster's `Never Settle' philosophy toward life and career," said Jeff Taylor, CEO of Monster.com. "Volunteering at the Olympics is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and Monster is thrilled to help people realize their dream of being part of the world's largest sporting event."

At previous Olympic Games, the volunteer organizational efforts required that an exhaustive amount of resources and time be devoted to administering and communicating with the volunteer labor force. In the past, communication channels between the organizing committee and volunteers were limited to direct contact, telephone conferencing, and direct mail efforts. The Team 2002 site will allow SLOC to maximize its resources and budget while building a well-informed volunteer corps. Since the Web site's launch in February 2001, more than 30,000 volunteers have visited the site posting questions and gathering information on the application process.

"Over the next 12 months, we have the daunting task of administering, training and retaining 26,000 volunteers. The partnership with Monster.com allows us to create a community of volunteers before the Olympic Games begin. The uniqueness of the site allows dual communication between the organizing committee and the vast pool of potential volunteers," said Mitt Romney, SLOC President and CEO.

Those seeking volunteer or full-time positions for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games can access information about positions and submit resumes through links between Monster.com (www.monster.com) and the SLOC Web site (www.saltlake2002.com).
