Rogers buys KF, buoys float base.

Specialty materials maker Rog-ers Corp. has purchased a South Korean maker of fuel tank level-sensing floats to expand its manufacturing base for nitrile butadiene rubber floats.

Rogers paid about $3.5 million for KF Inc., headquartered in Hwasung City, through a stock purchase agreement completed Jan. 30.

The acquired firm, which had sales of about $3 million in 2003, will become Rogers' Asian center for prototyping and small volume production, according to William E. Boomer, chairman and CEO of Rogers. Now a wholly owned Rog
