Adecco Italia Has Obtained Italian Business License inthe Temporary Staffing Market.

LAUSANNE, Switzerland--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 5, 1998--Adecco SA -- the worldwide leader in personnel services -- announced today that its Italian subsidiary, Adecco Italia Spa, Milano, has obtained its business license and will now start providing its services in Italy.

Although Italy

had legalized the activities of temporary staffing agencies in July 1997, the Ministry of Labour did not issue any business licenses until December 23, 1997.

With offices in Milan, Varese, Rome, Naples, Treviso, Padova, Bologna, Torino and Florence, Adecco has the largest branch network in Italy.

The Managing Director of Adecco Italia Spa, Jerome Caille, stated: "Because we are among the first to obtain a license, we shall fully benefit from the new law. With a national network of 9 branches -- 15 more are likely to be opened in 1998 -- we are ready to provide the same quality of service to Italian companies as we provide to our customers worldwide."

Adecco estimates that the Italian market for temporary employment will total to USD 800 million by the year 2000 and Adecco is aiming for a market share of 20%.

"We are a very important new instrument for Italian companies as the country evolves towards a more liberal staffing market similar to neighbouring European countries. As in the other 45 countries where Adecco is present today, we are now ready to help in creating new jobs in Italy. Worldwide, on an average day Adecco provides nearly 400,000 people with work," concluded Jerome Caille.
