PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 17, 2000

Staffing and outsourcing leader CDI Corp. (NYSE:CDI) today announced that it has entered into an agreement with Rolls-Royce Corporation to provide a strategic managed staffing solution designed to enhance recruiting and procurement efforts.

Under the terms of the three-year contract, the CDI Technical Services division will identify qualified engineers and other professionals for both direct

hire and contract positions at Rolls- Royce in Indianapolis, Indiana, and manage supplier associate and search firm relationships.

CDI will also recommend process improvements to enhance the quality of candidates while reducing cost-of-hire for all regular employees and contract personnel.

CDI will implement an online recruiting system for the Indianapolis location, enabling the customer to better track the candidate requisition, submittal and hiring process. In addition, CDI will administer pre-employment services, including background checks and drug screening.

The managed staffing contract is expected to generate $5 million in revenues for CDI in its first year.

At the Indianapolis facility, Rolls-Royce manufactures gas turbine engines for corporate and regional airline aircraft, helicopters, and military aircraft. Approximately 5,000 people are employed in Indiana.

"We are able to provide the Indianapolis operations of Rolls-Royce with a one-stop solution to manage its requirements for both contract and full-time professionals," said CDI Technical Services President Rickard Hedeby. "CDI's array of services, which includes managed staffing, outsourcing, and the permanent placements executed through our subsidiary, Management Recruiters International, enables us to strategically address the complex enterprise-wide workforce management need of customers like Rolls-Royce," Hedeby said.

"Our ability to provide superior technological solutions to enhance its recruitment processes obviously is viewed positively by Rolls-Royce. With the online recruitment system, we will be able to demonstrably reduce the time it takes Rolls-Royce to access and screen quality candidates for a range of contract and full-time positions, enabling it to complete key initiatives in a timely manner," said Dirk Dent, Executive Vice President, CDI Technical Services.
