Jun. 26--Before the year ends, only remnants of Brownsville's last major cut-and-sew operation will remain.

VF Imagewear, a Nashville-based uniform maker, negotiated a termination of its lease and informed its nearly 150 employees late last week that the plant will permanently close its doors. It is believed to be the only major clothing factory left in town.
