Nov. 7--KANSAS CITY, Mo.--Employers Reinsurance Corp. has stopped writing life reinsurance in the U.S. in order to pursue higher returns in other markets, the Overland Park, Kan., insurer said Thursday.
The world's fifth largest re-insurer said the change is part of an ongoing streamlining of its ERC Global Life and Health unit. The company on Thursday also named Al Stanley, previously ERC's executive vice president for operations, as the life and health unit's chief executive.
