State Farm Insurance Stands Firm on Rates Filed in Texas.

Jun. 28--The homeowners insurance industry appears ready to test the strength of the new enforcement powers that the Legislature and governor granted the Texas Department of Insurance.

A new law re...uires all companies selling or servicing insurance policies for Texas homes to file with the department their rates and justifications for those prices by Monday.

The expectation behind the law had been that companies will voluntarily reduce their rates rather than be ordered
