Aug. 2--FIRM BEGINS WRITING WORKERS COMPENSATION POLICIES: As workers compensation insurers cut policies in Florida, one new company says it will add business in the state.

Lakeland-based BusinessFirst Insurance Co. began writing workers comp policies this week. It plans to take on 1,500 to 2,000 employers in Florida, said Vice President Lynn Houser.

BusinessFirst won't cover the riskiest companies, such as roofers, Houser said, nor will it pick up all of the slack left by the Hart
